                                      Las Vegas

Las Vegas, where do you start?  With some of the team going out three days early and
some friends from Iowa arriving with two days to kill ..... Well lets say it made for some
good times and some even better pictures. Lets start off saying again thanks to Todd and
Randy for makeing the trip out and hanging out with us here at Stone Motorsports!

                                                   Thrusday 8/13

Vegas would show no luck for Paul in his pill draw! Drawing one of the high pills
would start us in the back of a heat... nothing new. With the drop of the green we made
a hard charge for the front but came up a few spots short with a 4th. Randy Havlik
would gain a 2nd in his heat and Todd Shute after leading the entire race would get ran
into and fall back to 9th. A bad crash in the 20th heat would knock the wall over in
turn 1 and have all the B-mains called off.

                                                      Friday 8/14

Pill draw would be on our side tonight and start outside front row in our heat and
would put that heat in the books as a 1st and put us in tonights A-qualifier. Randy
would also win his heat and would advance to the A of the night. Todd would see more
bad luck in his heat with a little help he would find himself stuffed in the wall coming
out of turn two on the drop of the green. Not getting the Stone Motorsports #5
restarted before the yellow would find him victim of the notorious I.M.C.A. rule of one
and your done B.S.
When the nights A came around it was like being on asphalt. Stone would be set with a
2nd  when the leader would start to burn off their tires. Paul would make a lovely pass
with 2 laps left and snatch the win and the outside front row for the main event.
Havlik came in 6th and would also be in the show.

                                                      Saturday 8/15

Todd and the Stone Motorsports #5 would have one last shot tonight. But on a side
note the Stone Motorsports team would have a bit of a scare tonight!! Young Victory
Family member Joel Chavez would find himself in one of the worst crashes of his young
career. Getting backed into the wall out of turn 2 would leave the kid a little sore and
shaking up but ok. As for the car .... Not much but a pile of metal! Back to Todd,
starting near the back of his last chance race would not be easy. Making a run from hell
Todd would be setting in 2nd with 7 laps to go. Running the leader down in 5 laps
would only leave 2 laps to make a move. Just not enough time to do much and would
make a last lap attempt that would fall short. Todd, us here at Stone Motorsports
would say thanks to you, Nikki, and Troy for flying out here and piloting the #5 for us.
Lets do it again in 09!!
Time for the 08 Duel In The Desert. Well ,this will be short and not so sweet. WE
MISSED and missed big. With 40 laps we would put a full fuel load on the Stone
Motorsports #66. Paul had this to say.. " I knew I was in trouble setting in line up".
From the drop of the green the car would never hook and made for a long 30 laps! At
one point we would find ourself back as far as 19th or so. Lap 35 the fuel would finally
have burned off enough to have something so we took what we could get pulling off a
16th.  Not the greatest but with over 200 cars entered being in the show is not doing too
bad. Randy would bring home a 22nd.  Thank you Randy and Jodi Havlik for making
the trip also.

Stone Motorsports is saying it now..  Randy and Todd  the invite is out for the 09
Duel In The Desert and  we will be seeing you two in Boone!!!!
Stone  Motorsports is all set to head out to " The City That Never Sleeps"
Las Vegas. Lots of hard  work and long nights assembling a new car and have invited
some friends from Iowa . Drivers like Tood Shute and Randy Havlik of JR
Motorsports are coming out to join the 66 team along with a  mass majority of the West
Coast Victory Chassis Family.  Last year was an upset getting knocked out with a few
laps to go left us looking forward to returning to The Duel In The Desert for some
redemption! And hey if it doesn't work out ........ Well........ IT  IS  VEGAS  BABY
                                          8/30/08 - 9/6/08
                                     Oregon and Boone

Well set back folks this is going to be a long one. Starting off with the big show in Oregon at
Southern Oregon Speedway. Car felt unbelievably great didn't make a difference where I
wanted to run... the car would go! With a car like that making the show on Sat. was a breeze.
Sun. main event time and it was a 100 lapper. This was going to be a long one. Drop of the
green, like always it was... lets take it easy for a bit, but when Hogge swang past us on lap 3
or 4, we had to change that mind frame like fast!! So, start off the war with myself and
Hogge and man was it a good one trading the top spot was going on a hole bunch. At the
50 lap break they did a pit stop on the front straight and I will say (laughing along with my
crew) my boys are in no shape to be running from one end of the track to the other, a sight in
itself. On to the last 50 and the war continues til a yellow flag came out with 19 to go. Then
under the yellow a .10 cent nut fell off the stearing and left me a lame duck with a fair shot at
a $10,000 payday (laughing in the distance!!) O well lets not cry over spilled milk.

On to Boone and the Super Nationals........

Ariving in Iowa and pulling the Stone Motorsports hauler into our dear friend Corey and
Lettie Bushnells home... whos hospitality and giving has always flattered us. It was a relief
after being cooped up in the truck for 3 days. Running a little behind, like always, the
Bushnells once again opened the home and shop to the Stone Motorsports team and
changing motors and body took a bit longer than we had hoped for. Getting the cars ready
with around 15 min. to get to the speedway would find us late like always, but hell thats
nothing new to us. So when the Stone Motorsports hauler showed up the gate guard looking
at it... all but said " Ya, yall not pulling that thing in here tonight".  Let me say we was not
going to disagree with that. So, on the street we would park. Not making a pill draw would
have us last in our heats for Wed. night... with us in heat 39 and Daly in 40 was going to
make this day never going to end. The 66 car still feeling as good as ever we got to a 5th in
the heat putting us in a nightly B-main. Daly would turn in a DNF due to MSD failure. The car
still a rocket would take the win in our B-main for Wed. night.

                                                             Thursday
Thurs. pill was not to bad. we were in heat 17 or so, and the car still hot would win that heat
with no problem. So now we have the first chance of this trip to Boone to put the 66 in the
show and along came the first black cloud of the week. Getting a flat right front and pulling
off the track would end it for the night. Daly would find himself in a B for the night and not
doing to bad.

                                                             Friday
Another not to bad of a pill draw would have us in another early heat. With a strong car we
fought for the lead but was not looking for a crash. So, the leader of the heat would hold off
the 66 for the win. We won't say much about that win except that they won. Second B-Main
of the week and the 66 would take the win with ease once more. The night would have to go
to Clay Daly for sure for the kid found a way to fight his way into the show. Good job kid!!

                                                             Saturday
Well, on to the last night to make it in and it all felt good. Points would have us starting near
the front of our heat and would win that with a breeze. So here it is... starting 6th in the last
chance to make it in the 08 Super Nationals. We were feeling like nothing was going to
keep us out... then Lady luck would show her nasty face!!! Moving up to the transfer spot for
the show a yellow would fly and O.M.G. half a lap after the yellow some blind whatever would
drive right up the left side of the 66 and have the two cars locked together. Now I know rules
are rules but man we get a black flag because " Our wheels were stopped under a yellow"
really think they should have looked at that... I mean come on I'm putting around on a yellow,
get RAN into in and we're done????  Like Forest Gump would say " THATS ALL I GOTTA
SAY ABOUT THAT"!!!

Want to say great job to Clay Daly for getting into the show and getting a 10th place out of it.
Good going Clay we all here at Stone Motorsports are proud of you kid...
